New Playroom

To go along with my intense need to clean out closets, I have also decide there are many room sin my house that need a face lift.  The playroom is the only one that the money fairy has funded thus far, but we are getting there. Before it was looking sort of like a day care threw up because that room was so big and there were just toys everywhere, so I cut the room into two areas with a reading section and a play area.  We are still waiting on some curtains and a couple of wall decals, but we are really excited about the way it turned out.

Thanks Grandma & Grandpa Cahill

As I am sure all of you know - James is OBSESSED with Elmo who he calls Melmo.  He wants to watch it all day long on TV.  So he was SO excited when he got a package from G & G Cahill that contained Elmo pajamas!! They are fantastic - we put them on that night and spent most of the next day in them watching Seasame Street.  Thanks guys!

22 week Pics

James 22 weeks

New Baby 22 weeks

How Far Along: 22 Weeks

Size of baby: Baby Garrison is now the size of a papaya.

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  So when I stepped on the scale this time it jumped up 8 POUNDS!!!  I am blaming in on the cherry hearts and my craving for real coke.  The only thing I can hang my hat on is that I have only gained 12 lbs total.

Maternity Clothes: Pretty much the same, although I did have to go buy some work pants.  My next purchase will be some regular old t-shirts - they seem to be shrinking in the wash.

Gender: It's a.....BOY!!! We will have one more little testosterone filled human in the house.  As I have been telling people - I remain the queen of my castle.  Although we kept saying that we were having a girl, I didn't have an emotional breakdown in the ultrasound -so I am pretty cool with it. :)

Movement: I started feeling him turn over at about 19 weeks and he started really kicking me at about 21 weeks.  He is far more active than James was.  James used to do a little tap dance around 7 am and then a little love tap in the evening - this guy is punching and kicking all over the place.  It is distracting, but of course AWESOME!!

Sleep: Doing great.  Just getting up around 3 to go to the bathroom! Keeping my fingers crossed that this will last awhile.

Cravings: Still Mexican, french fries, and coke.  But I have sort of entered into a "fresh phase" - this basically means I have been wanting fresh fruit, the tortilini salad at Taste, and caprese salad.

Symptoms: I am doing so much better in this area.  I still get tired, but nothing like before.   I have been nesting like a crazy person.  Thank goodness I have been busy at work otherwise I would never stop cleaning out closets!

Best Moment of the month: It was pretty cool finding out what we were having, especially because I have been in such a planning mode.  It is also always amazing to feel him move around for the first time.  It just never gets old.

Snow Removal

As with much of the Midwest, we in Indianapolis experienced an ice/snow storm tha shut the city down for a couple of days.  Although it was super ridiculous that we didn't have work for three days, we did get a bunch of ice and it was Andy's mission to keep the driveway clean.  James decided he would help out.

The Hat

One of the many new things that James figured out to do is put his hats on by himself!  He is very proud of the fact and so continues to go to the closet, gets hats out and wears then around the house - regardless of what he is doing.  Its pretty comical.

15 (well really 16) months old!

If you can believe it Jame is 16 months old.  We had his 15 month appointment in January and all was well!  James has grown to 31 inches and weighs in at almost 26 punds - so he has actually slimmed out a little.

He is actually sharing my roast beef sandwhich here.

So what is the monkey up to?  Well he is beyond mobile - he runs around the house and all around the playroom after the dog and away from us.  He is also LOVING going outside - it doesn't matter if it is cold or not he just loves it.

He has about 12 teeth now and while hw can eat everything, he decides to only really eat carbs, carbs, and more carbs.  We did get him to eat peas for a couple of days and then right back to boycotting all vegetables.  He still does okay with dairy and fruit - well apples and bananas- and has been better about his proteins, but he still really likes his carbs! I guess it runs in the family. :)

Although he is getting taller - he still has some very short legs, so we are mostly in 12 month pants but 18-24 month shirts and 24 month pajamas.  And while 2 months ago, I was sure that James would never where socks or shoes, he has been asking to have socks on lately - very strange.

Some other strange things that have been happening are his aversion to having his pants changed, changing his clothes and bathtime!  It is very frustratng because bathtime used to be a great time and now it is just screaming - but I mean he has to get clean.  We have been trying a couple different things to make him not afraid without any results.  Our next step is a fun faucet cover and water crayons.  We will see.

All in all he is fantastic.
