Bath Time Fun.

This picture was taken by Aunt Kate when she was visiting for James' baptism and she was nice enough to share it with us.  I tried to convince Andy to leave it, but he is convinced he needs to stay a conservative for as long as possible.

Hello Ladies

Do you mind?
Really Aunt Kate?  A photo shoot now?

10 Months Old

On Saturday, October 14th James turned 10 months old!!! I know, I can't believe it either.  Some things that are going on right now...James is obsessed with walking, anything that he can push in front of him becomes a walker, the laundry basket, a cardboard box, even the trash can.  We are excited by this as well as terrified.  He has also taken his turn on the stairs, he gets up about three steps and then turns around sees how high he is and promptly sits down, but since his but/legs is wider than the step he promptly tips back and falls down.  Thus the gate has gone up which Gus is none to happy about.  We also turned the front room into James playroom so all his toys are in one area and he loves it.

He has also decided that he doesn't really need baby food anymore, he just wants whatever is on your plate.  By doing this he has greatly diversified and expanded his palate.  With his 8 teeth, he now enjoys hamburger, chicken, whole peas, cut up green beans, mashed potatoes, mashed potates with gorganzola, macaroni and cheese, whole carrots, cheerios up the ying yang, french fries, apple juice, and the cherries out of Andy's drink (not really...just wanted to make sure you were paying attention.)

He weighed 20 lbs 5 ounces when he had his tubes in and  is probably around 28 1/2 inches tall - as Andy always points out he is almost half my height.  He is wearing a size 18 shirt but as is the Hogan/Garrison way, he still has short legs so only a 12 month pant/short.

He not really saying anything yet besides DAH, sometimes it is GA and sometimes TSS, but mostly DAH.  He is fully aware of his name and will momentarily pause will you tell him no before he busts out laughing at you.  It is incredibly hard not to laugh along with him, but we are finding a way to keep a straight face. Someone has also taught him how to stick out his tonuge, so that is a fun new game.

He and Gus are becoming quite the buds especially when James chases him around the room trying to get his toy or continually tips over Gus's water bowl.

We are as always enjoying our time with him and can't wait to see what he does next.

The 10 month old face!

The Train...The Train

This is James favorite new toy, he could ride on it for hours...around and around and around in a circle.

And if he can't ride on it, then he will push it himself!

Aunt Ceretea's House

The weekend after the baptism James, GG (Great Grandma Childress), and I went on a long overdue trip to Aunt Ceretea's in Ohio.  James did great on the trip and fully enjoyed exploring a new house, porch and CATS - which he stared at and then screamed DAH! It was pretty cute.  There were even a kitten that I caught and James got to pet.  However we promptly washed our hands because everyone knows if you can catch a kitten, there is something wrong with it.  The only trouble we had was James decided the couch was a good place to relieve himself...oops.  Thanks Ceretea, we had a great time.

Chillin in the front room...maybe we need a bigger shirt?

On our way home from Cincinnati...the boy shopped til he dropped

Baptism

James was baptised two weekends ago in the Methodist church that we have been attending.  We had both our families and our dear friends the Kassens and the Maxwells there.  James got a little crabby when the water came, but overall he did great.  We then went back to the house and had a great party.  It was a great chance to get the families together and celebrate.

Here we are with the Kassens (more pictures with the families are on their way)

James started crawling around in church under the chairs and all around - it was actually kind of cute.

Dreaded Tubes

So as many of you know, James has been having terrible trouble with ear infections over the last several months.  So after the last infection wouldn't go away we had to go to the Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor who, as we suspected, told us James needed tubes.  We had to go in at 6:30am and they took him away for surgery around 7:30.  Before I even had a moment to get nervous and worry, James was back in my arms with hardly a scratch on him.  7 minutes from the moment he left until I got him back.  I didn't get any pictures while we were at the hospital, but here he is in the afternoon after.

I think he looks pretty happy.

Best of Friends

It has always been Andy and my hope that James and Gus would be the best of friends.  Until now they had basically ignored each other aside from a random tongue lapping administered by Gus.  This week James has started following Gus around and always wants to be were he is...

Like Father like Son

Although it is probably not the best thing for a parent to laugh at, we thought this was prety funny when the second we brought the boxes in James went immediatly to them and tries to open them up.  What are you going to do?

New Things

James continues to surprise us every day with the new things he learns.  Two weeks ago when we gave him the sippy cup, he chewed on the end and threw it on the floor, now you almost have to pry it away from him.  He is drinking water and some apple juice and loving it.  He is also imitating EVERYTHING! In this picture you can see his love of the sippy cup and that he is crossing his feet, just like Mom does!

A Walker...sort of

So James got this new toy today - and although I have other posts to put up before this date...you all HAD to see this.
